Hello all!
I am happy to announce that my Dissertation has been published. I just completed the last administrative step and I am DONE! I graduate on Saturday, June 26, 2021 officially. I am now entering the job market. I am conducting a national job search.
You will be able to read my dissertation soon, as I have decided to release it to the public immediately. Students may choose to embargo their dissertation for a period of time after the completion. I chose to waive that option and release it as soon as possible. As the first LGBTQ+ topic dissertation in Public Administration in Michigan history, it is important that I release my findings to the public as soon as possible. This dissertation will help the public understand LGBTQ+ issues on the local level, as it relates to municipal government.
This project was quite the undertaking that I have devoted several years of my life to. My next step lies in the national job search and where it may lead me. While I am doing this, I am working on the next evolution of The Council for Human Rights, which will be to evolve into Grand Rapids’ first LGBTQ+ foundation. This organization will seek to advance the LGBTQ+ community in West Michigan in several key policy areas and improve our quality of life. In my other work as the President of the ASPA Michigan Capital Area Chapter, we are in the process of implementing a fund development plan to enhance the services we are able to provide to public administrators in Michigan.
Thanks for reading along with this update. I have been very busy and I’m looking forward to what is next for me.
